Tradition in the next generation

Organic Beer and kitchen

Peter Wiegaertner has joined the family business. In 2009 he has completed the master’s examination for brewing and malt master at the international brewmaster school “ Doemens - Technikum “ and immediately started to lead the brewery “ Hufeisen “ ( “ Horseshoe” ) into the future with new ideas.

In a very short time, he has managed to make the Pottensteiner Urdunkel ( which is being brewed for 5 generations) available in organic quality. The organic inspection board BCS in Nuernberg supervises, that only raw materials from controlled organic cultivation are being used, and that the manufacturing process meets strict regulations.

In general, the brewery “Hufeisen” is increasingly relying on organic beer. The next step will be to change the “Hufeisen Kellerweizen” and the “Pottensteiner Premium Pils” into organic beers.

a typical franconian bitter beer – our house beer, brewed by every generation and always by the same recipe!

a subtle yeast – dull wheat beer – will be brought to maturity with special procedures in our basement tanks.
